For Nevada Teen Drivers – 15-5 Online Course + Lessons or 30-Hour Online Driver’s Education Course

Cantor's Student taking Nevada 30-Hour Online Driver's Education CourseCantor’s Driving School offers two convenient ways for new teen drivers in Nevada to get started on earning their driver’s license through its partner for online courses – Safe2Drive. It is mandatory in Nevada for all new drivers under 18 years of age to successfully complete one of these two programs prior to taking the road test to get their license. New drivers who are 18 years old or over do not have to fulfill these requirements.

  • Take the “15-5” program – a 15 hour Online Driver Education Course and (at least) 5 hours of behind-the-wheel training with a professional driving school like Cantor’s Driving School. (The behind-the-wheel lessons in the 15-5 program can be taken at the same time as the online course. It is not necessary to complete the online course before starting the driving lessons.)
  • Complete a 30-Hour Online Driver’s Education Course that is licensed by the Nevada Department of Motor Vehichles (DMV)

The online driver education courses can be started at the age of 15. The minimum age to start taking driving lessons is 15 ½.

Driving lessons with male instructorCantor’s Driving School offers the 15-5 program for Nevada teens between the ages of 15 and 18 who wish to start the process of earning a driver license. The 15-5 program is an alternative to the 30-hour online program. The “15” refers to the required 15 hours of online instruction, and the “5” is for the (at least) 5 hours of behind-the-wheel training that teens must complete with a professional driving school such as Cantor’s Driving School.
