Nevada Driver’s License Requirements

What is Needed on the Day of Your Driver’s Test
Nevada requires these things to be brought to the DMV on the day of the driving test.
If you are under 18 years of age, bring:
- A Valid Nevada Instruction (Learner’s) Permit
- Certificate of Completion for 30 hour Driver’s Ed course, or Certificate of Completion for 15 Hour Driver’s Ed course plus Certificate of Completion for (at least) 5 Hours of Behind-the-Wheel driving lessons with a Nevada-licensed driving school like Cantor’s Driving School
- A parent or guardian must be present to sign the consent form in person at the DMV
- Valid car registration and valid proof of auto insurance. If using Cantor’s Driving School’s Day-of-Test Service and taking the test in a Cantor’s car, these are provided.
If you are 18 years of age or over, bring:
- A Valid Nevada Instruction (Learner’s) Permit
- Valid car registration and valid proof of auto insurance. If using Cantor’s Driving School’s Day-of-Test Service and taking the test in a Cantor’s car, these are provided.
Please note: if the driver’s test is a retest, the state charges an $11 fee that is due the day of the driver’s test.
As of 2020, parallel parking has been eliminated from the road test given by the Nevada DMV.
