• Take the “15-5” program – a 15 hour Online Driver Education Course and (at least) 5 hours of behind-the-wheel training with a professional driving school like Cantor’s Driving School. (The behind-the-wheel lessons in the 15-5 program can be taken at the same time as the online course. It is not necessary to complete the online course before starting the driving lessons.)
• Complete a 30-Hour Online Driver’s Education Course that is licensed by the Nevada Department of Motor Vehichles (DMV)

The minimum age to start taking driving lessons is 15 ½.

Nevada 15-5 Driver Education Program with Free Online Course and Behind-the-Wheel Training

Cantor’s Driving School offers the 15-5 program for Nevada teens between the ages of 15 and 17½ who wish to start the process of earning a driver license. The 15-5 program is an alternative to the 30-hour online program. The “15” refers to the required 15 hours of online instruction, and the “5” is for the (at least) 5 hours of behind-the-wheel training that teens must complete with a professional driving school such as Cantor’s Driving School. You must fulfill both of these requirements to be eligible to earn your driver’s license.

This 15 hour online driver’s ed course is FREE with every Cantor’s Driving School driving lessons package of 3 lessons or more for new drivers between 15½ and 17½ years old. Since Cantor’s Driving School only offers driving lessons in 2 hour increments, at least 3 two-hour lessons of behind-the-wheel training are needed to meet this requirement.

It’s easy! Just follow these 6 simple steps:

1. Purchase a package of driving lessons. You must have your learner’s permit to purchase your lessons. After you purchase your package of 3 or more driving lessons, call us at 702-985-7993 or send an email to cantorsdrivingnv@gmail.com, and we will provide the link and credentials to access this 15 hour online course.
2. Login to Safe2Drive’s website and take the course. You’re free to log in and out as much as you want.
3. Complete the Course – The 15-hour course is broken into 8 timed lessons that you can complete at your own pace. At the end of each lesson, there is a multiple-choice quiz. You must pass each quiz in order to move on to the next lesson.
4. Pass the Exam – At the end of the course, there is a final exam made up of 10 multiple-choice questions. You must score at least 80% on the final exam to pass. Don’t worry – you can take the exam as many times as you need to pass, at no extra charge.
5. Get Your Certificate – To get the certificate, you must first submit a notarized affidavit verifying you have completed the course and the final exam without outside assistance. The notarized affidavit is required by the Nevada DMV for students at all online schools. If you are under age 18, your parent or legal guardian must sign the affidavit as well. Nevada allows you to notarize documents in person or online. You can download and print the Nevada 15-Hour Driver Education Program affidavit here. 6. Complete Your Behind-the-Wheel Training — You can complete your behind-the-wheel training before, after, or during your 15 hour online course. Cantor’s Driving School offers private, one-on-one, on-the-road driving lessons 7 days a week. Door-to-door service is provided – they pick you up and drop you off at your home, work or school.
7. Use the RoadReady App to log your behind-the-wheel driving hours, then print your proof of the hours to obtain your driver’s license.  Or print a copy of the Beginning Driver Experience Log to record driving hours manually.

Behind-the-Wheel Driver Training Lessons as Part 2 of the 15-5 Program

The driver training is done via private driving lessons – one-on-one with a Cantor’s Driving School professional driving instructor. Driving lessons are given 7 days a week. Door-to-door service is provided – we pick you up and drop you off at your school, work, house or apartment.

To take the behind-the-wheel driver training as part of the 15-5 program, students must have their learner’s permit and be between the ages of 15½ and 17½ years old.

The behind-the-wheel lessons in the 15-5 program can be taken at the same time as the online course. It is not necessary to complete the online course before starting the driving lessons.

Since Cantor’s Driving School only offers driving lessons in 2 hour increments, at least 3 two-hour lessons (6 hours total) of behind-the-wheel training are needed to meet this requirement at Cantor’s Driving School.
